SERVICES - INTRODUCTION
EduCare of Texas is the state's leading provider of services to individuals
of all ages who have cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
We earned this leadership role one client at a time. Each and every
day our caring, compassionate, and capable people work to sustain our
reputation for respect and care.
Our mission is to provide quality supports in order to help individuals
grow, develop, and enhance the quality of their lives. We provide these
supports in the home or apartment, as well as in group homes, residential
facilities, vocational skills training and day programs, or anywhere
else that an individual, their family or guardian may require or desire
such support.
We believe that in order to be optimally effective, supports should
not be isolated or stand alone in nature, but rather, they are part
of a continuum of services and may change with eligibility, age, needs,
financial resources, and personal choice. We are committed to providing
"quality service" at every step along the continuum.
EduCare of Texas provides Medicaid related services in the following
programs:
Community Living and Support Services (CLASS), a home-care type program
for persons with Related Conditions;
Home and Community-based Services (HCS), including, supported home living,
foster, and 3-4 person group homes;
Texas Home Living, (TxHmL), providing various services to individuals
in their own homes; and
Intermediate Care Facilities for Mental Retardation (ICF-MR), 6-person
group homes and larger congregate living settings.
EduCare of Texas also provides extensive pre-vocational, vocational,
supported employment, and day activity services through Alternative
Business Services, where work is more than a job and customers can change
a life®. With over 24 locations throughout the state, there may
be an Alternative Business Services close to you.
EduCare of Texas also has a long history of blending available funding
resources for most of its services and programs, in order to better
serve its clients.
