SERVICES - RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES

EduCare of Texas operates Residential Facilities serving adults and children in larger campus-style settings in San Antonio, Texas at The Willows, and in Austin, Texas at Esperanza Children's Center Where Hope Finds a Home®. Both settings offer all the same services as the ICF-MR group homes, as well as significantly more services for those with complex medical needs. There are licensed nurses on duty around the clock. Active seizure disorders, conditions requiring breathing treatments, and multiple/complex physical disabilities are just a sample of conditions that these settings can easily handle, which are often incompatible with placements in smaller group homes. In addition, persons requiring g-tube feedings or who are incapable of participating in self-medication procedures are also served well in this environment. It is our experience that many families feel comforted by the added security a larger environment provides and view these settings as desirable alternatives to other available placements.

Both facilities have arrangements with various day programs in their areas, the capabilities to provide day programming on the premises, and working arrangements with multiple local school districts.
